1,2,4,5-Tetramethylbenzene is the precursor to pyromellitic dianhydride, which is used for manufacturing curing agents, adhesives, coating materials. It is used in the manufacture of some raw materials for engineering plastics (polyimides) and cross-linking agent for alkyd resins.

Applications
Le 1,2,4,5-tétraméthylbenzène est le précurseur du dianhydride pyromellitique, qui est utilisé pour la fabrication d’agents de durcissement, d’adhésifs et de matériaux de revêtement. Il est utilisé dans la fabrication de certaines matières premières pour les plastiques techniques (polyimides) et sert d’agent de réticulation pour les résines alkydes.
