1-(2-Pyridyl)piperazine may be employed as reagent for the determination of both aliphatic and aromatic isocyanates in air by reversed-phase HPLC. It may be employed as reagent for the fluorometric determination of airborne diisocyantes. It is a compound that belongs to a class of selective α2-adrenoceptor antagonists. 1-(2-Pyridyl)piperazine shows sympatholytic activity. 1-(2-Pyridyl)piperazine is also a metabolite of Azaperone.

Applications
La 1-(2-pyridyl)pipérazine peut être utilisée comme réactif pour la détermination des isocyanates aliphatiques et aromatiques dans l’air par HPLC en phase inverse. Elle peut être utilisée comme réactif pour la détermination fluorométrique des diisocyanates en suspension dans l’air. C’est un composé qui appartient à une classe d’antagonistes α2-adrénocepteurs sélectifs. La 1-(2-pyridyl)pipérazine montre une activité sympatholytique. La 1-(2-pyridyl)pipérazine est également un métabolite de l’azapérone.

Solubilité
Soluble dans le chloroforme, le méthanol.

Remarques
Sensible à l’air. Conserver à l’écart de l’air et des agents oxydants. Incompatible avec le dioxyde de carbone, les acides forts, les chlorures acides, les anhydrides acides.
