1,4-Dibromobenzene is used in the synthesis of 2,5-dibromoacetophenone, triarylamines and trans- stilbenes. It is widely used as a heavy liquid solvent as well as a motor oil additive. It finds application as an intermediate in the manufacture of organic chemicals such as dyes, pharmaceuticals and flame retardants for polymeric materials.

Applications
Le 1,4-dibromobenzène est utilisé dans la synthèse du 2,5-dibromoacétophénone, des triarylamines et des trans-stilbènes. Il est largement utilisé comme solvant liquide lourd ainsi que comme additif d’huile moteur. Il s’utilise comme intermédiaire dans la fabrication de produits chimiques organiques tels que les colorants, les produits pharmaceutiques et les retardateurs de flamme pour les matériaux polymères.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’alcool, le benzène, le chloroforme, le toluène et le tétrachlorure de carbone. Insoluble dans l’éther.

Remarques
Évitez la chaleur et la lumière excessives. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
