1-Adamantanamine acts as a catalyst in enantioselective strecker reaction of phosphinoyl imines. It is also useful for making adamantane derivatives, i.e. amantadine hydrochloride. It is used in the pharmaceutical industry as antiviral and an antiparkinsonian drug.

Applications
L’1-adamantanamine agit comme catalyseur dans la réaction de Strecker énantiosélective des imines phosphinoyles. Elle est également utile dans la fabrication des dérivés d’adamantane, c’est-à-dire le chlorhydrate d’amantadine. Il est utilisé dans l’industrie pharmaceutique comme antiviral et médicament antiparkinsonien.
