2,4,6-Triphenylpyrylium tetrafluoroborate is used as a sensitizer to carry out the photo oxidation of cathecol. It is also used in the preparation of three N-alkylpyridinium photosensitizers by reacting with (1R,2S)-(-)-norephedrine, (S)-(+)-2-(aminomethyl)pyrrolidine and (R)-(-)-1-cyclohexylethylamine.

Applications
Le tétrafluoroborate de 2,4,6-triphénylpyrylium est utilisé comme sensibilisateur pour effectuer l’oxydation photo du cathécol. Il est également utilisé dans la préparation de trois photosensibilisateurs N-alkylpyridinium en réagissant avec (1 R,2S)-(-)-noréphédrine, (S)-(+)-2-(aminométhyl)pyrrolidine et (R)-(-)-1 -cyclohexyléthylamine.

Solubilité
Insoluble dans l’eau, l’alcool éthylique, l’éther diéthylique. Soluble dans l’acide trifluroacétique.

Remarques
Sensible à l’humidité. Conserver à l’écart des agents oxydants, de l’eau et de l’humidité. Stocker sous un gaz inerte. Gardez le récipient bien fermé et placez-le dans un endroit frais, sec et bien ventilé.
