2-Chloropyrimidine is a useful reagent in the preparation of antivirals and other biologically active compounds. It was used in the synthesis of 4?-(1,1?-(5-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-[2,2?-bipyrimidine]-4,6-diyl)bis(1H-pyrazol-3,1-diyl)) dianiline fluorescent dye, biosensor for protein assay, 2-amino-4-heteroarylpyrimidines, cis- and trans-octahydropyrrolo[2,3]pyridine derivatives.

Applications
La 2-chloropyrimidine est un réactif utile dans la préparation d’antiviraux et d’autres composés biologiquement actifs. Elle a été utilisée dans la synthèse de colorants fluorescents à base de dianiline 4′-(1,1′-(5-(2-méthoxyphénoxy)-[2,2′-bipyrimidine]-4,6-diyl)bis(1H-pyrazol-3,1-diyl)), de biocenseurs pour le dosage protéique, et des dérivés des 2-amino-4-hétéroarylpyrimidines, cis- et trans-octahydropyrrolo[2,3] pyridines.
