As a reactive monomer2-Hydroxyethyl acrylate is used as a crosslinking agent for resins, plastics and rubber modifiers. Further, it is used in the synthesis of amphilic block copolymers by nitroxide mediated living radical polymerization. In addition to this, it is used to prepare tuned poly(hydroxyethyl acrylate) by atom transfer radical polymerization.

Applications
En tant que monomère réactif, l’acrylate d’2-hydroxyéthyle est utilisé comme agent réticulé pour les résines, les plastiques et les modificateurs en caoutchouc. De plus, il est utilisé dans la synthèse de copolymères de blocs amphiliques par polymérisation de radicaux vivants médiés par le nitroxyde.
