2-Phenoxyaniline serves as an antiinflammatory agent that inhibits preferentially COX-2 over COX-1. It is used in the preparation of sodium primary amide complex, 4-methyl-2-(2-phenoxyphenyl)azo-phenol and 2-acetoaminodiphenyl ether. Further, it is used to form complexes with beta-cyclodextrin.

Applications
2-phénoxyaniline servant d’agent anti-inflammatoire qui inhibe de préférence le COX-2 par rapport au COX-1. Il est utilisé dans la préparation du complexe amide primaire de sodium, le 4-méthyl-2-(2-phénoxyphényl)azo-phénol et l’éther 2-acétoaminodiphényle. De plus, il est utilisé pour former des complexes avec la bêta-cyclodextrine.

Solubilité
Il est légèrement soluble dans le chloroforme et le méthanol.
