L’acide 3-méthoxybenzoïque est utilisé dans la synthèse et la caractérisation des 3-méthoxybenzoates d’europium (III) et de gadolinium (III)1. Il a été utilisé pour la conversion des acides carboxyliques aromatiques en esters méthyliques et pour la réduction aux alcools primaires correspondants à l’aide d’un système de borohydrure de sodium-THF-méthanol
Solubilité
Soluble dans 95 % d’éthanol (50 mg/ml), l’eau (2 mg/ml à 25°C) et le méthanol.
Remarques
Conserver le récipient bien fermé. Stocker dans des conditions fraîches et sèches et dans des récipients bien scellés. Incompatible avec les bases et les agents oxydants.
