3-Pentanol is widely used as a flavoring agent. It is biogenic oxygenated volatile organic compound (BOVOC) and is used as a reagent in the synthesis of pure bromopentanes for infrared standards.

Applications
Le 3-pentanol est largement utilisé comme aromatisant. Il s’agit d’un composé organique volatil biogénique oxygéné (BOVOC) utilisé comme réactif dans la synthèse de bromopentanes purs pour les étalons infrarouges.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’acétone, le benzène, l’éthanol et l’éther diéthylique.
