4-Bromomethyl-3-nitrobenzoic acid is used as a reactant in the synthesis of 4-bromomethyl-3-nitrobenzoic acid succinimide ester, 4-((2-(hydroxymethyl)phenyl amino)methyl)-3-nitrobenzoic acid, 4-(2-hydroxyethylmercaptylmethyl)-3-nitrobenzoic acid. It is also used as a thiol photo-deprotection reagent, a starting material in the synthesis of 2H-indazole based library using parallel solution-phase methods.

Applications
L’acide 4-bromométhyl-3-nitrobenzoïque est utilisé comme réactif dans la synthèse de l’ester succinimide de l’acide 4-bromométhyl-3-nitrobenzoïque, de l’acide 4-(2(hydroxyméthyl)phényl amino)méthyl)-3-nitrobenzoïque, 4 de l’acide (2-hydroxyéthylmercaptylméthyl)-3-nitrobenzoïque. Il est également utilisé comme réactif de photodéprotection thiol, un matériau de départ dans la synthèse d’une bibliothèque basée sur 2H-indazole à l’aide de méthodes parallèles en phase de solution.

Solubilité
Soluble dans le DMF et le dichlorométhane. Insoluble dans l’eau.
