4-Methoxybenzoic acid is used in oxidation and reduction of cytochrome c in solution through different self-assembled monolayers on gold electrodes using cyclic voltammetry. p-Anisic acid has antiseptic properties. It is also used as an intermediate in the preparation of more complex organic compounds.

Applications
L’acide 4-méthoxybenzoïque est utilisé pour l’oxydation et la réduction du cytochrome c en solution par différentes monocouches auto-assemblées sur des électrodes en or à l’aide de la voltampérométrie cyclique. L’acide p-anisique possède des propriétés antiseptiques. Il est également utilisé comme intermédiaire dans la préparation de composés organiques plus complexes.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau à 20°C 0,3 g/l. Soluble dans l’alcool, l’acétate d’éthyle et l’éther.

Remarques
Conserver à l’abri des oxydants. Gardez le récipient bien fermé et placez-le dans un endroit frais, sec et bien ventilé.
