4-Nitrophenol is used as a precursor to prepare phenetidine, acetophenetidne and pH indicator. Its carboxylate ester derivatives are involved as an active component for the construction of amide moieties in peptide synthesis. It is used as an intermediate in the synthesis of paracetamol and N-acetyl-p-aminophenol dyestuffs.

Le 4-nitrophénol est utilisé comme précurseur pour préparer l‘indicateur de phénétidine, d‘acétophénetidne et de pH. Ses dérivés d‘ester carboxylate sont impliqués en tant que composant actif pour la construction de fractions d‘amide dans la synthèse de peptides. Solubilité
Librement soluble dans l‘alcool, le chloroforme et l‘éther. Librement soluble dans l‘acétone. Légèrement soluble dans l’eau.
