4-tert-Butylcatechol is widely utilized as an inhibitor in polymerization of butadiene, styrene, vinyl acetate and other reactive monomers. It plays an important role in the synthesis of tungsten oxide nanoparticles by nonaqueous sol-gel process. It acts as a stabilizer in the manufacturing of polyurethane foam. It is employed as an antioxidant for synthetic rubber, polymers and oil derivatives. It is also utilized as a purification agent for aminoformate catalysts.

Applications
Le 4-tert-butylcatéchol est largement utilisé comme inhibiteur dans la polymérisation du butadiène, du styrène, de l’acétate de vinyle et d’autres monomères réactifs. Il joue un rôle important dans la synthèse des nanoparticules d’oxyde de tungstène par un procédé Sol-Gel non aqueux. Il agit comme un stabilisateur dans la fabrication de mousse de polyuréthane. Il est utilisé comme antioxydant pour le caoutchouc synthétique, les polymères et les dérivés d’huile. Il est également utilisé comme agent de purification pour les catalyseurs d’aminoformate.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’éther, l’acétone, l’alcool et le méthanol. Insoluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Gardez le récipient hermétiquement fermé dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
