4-(Trifluoromethyl)benzoic acid was used in the synthesis of salicylanilide 4-(trifluoromethyl)benzoates via N,N?-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide coupling in dry N,N-dimethylformamide. It was used as internal standard during the ultra trace analysis of fluorinated aromatic carboxylic acids by GC/MS method.

Applications
L’acide 4-(trifluorométhyl)benzoïque a été utilisé dans la synthèse des benzoates de salicylanilide 4-(trifluorométhyl) via le couplage N,N′-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide dans le N,N-diméthylformamide sec. Il a été utilisé comme étalon interne lors de l’analyse ultra-trace des acides carboxyliques aromatiques fluorés par la méthode GC/MS.
