Applications
Le 5-chloro-2-(2,4-dichlorophénoxy)phénol, agit comme agent bactériostatique et conservateur dans la composition des cosmétiques et détergents. Il est également utilisé comme antiseptique, désinfectant et anticonvulsivant. C’est l’un des principaux ingrédients des shampooings, des désodorisants, des dentifrices, des bains de bouche et des produits de nettoyage ménager. Il inhibe la croissance des bactéries et des champignons sur les surfaces du textile, ce qui joue un rôle dans la protection contre les odeurs pour la laine, les synthétiques, ainsi que les tissus mélangés et non tissés.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’éthanol, le méthanol, l’éther diéthylique et les solutions d’hydroxyde de sodium (1M). Légèrement soluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Stockez-le dans un endroit frais. Se décompose en chauffant. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
