6-Methyl-2-thiouracil is mainly used in surgical preparation of mild hyperthyroidism, thyroid storm, hyperthyroidism and postoperative treatment. It is used in the treatment of hyperthyroidism. It is used as a drug, which is applied to decrease the formation of stored thyroid hormone and thyroglobulin in the thyroid gland.

Applications
6-Méthyl-2-thiouracil est principalement utilisé dans la préparation chirurgicale d’hyperthyroïdie légère, de crise thyréotoxique, d’hyperthyroïdie et de traitement postopératoire. Il est utilisé dans le traitement de l’hyperthyroïdie. Il est utilisé comme médicament, qui est appliqué pour diminuer la formation de l’hormone thyroïdienne stockée et de la thyroglobuline dans la glande thyroïde.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’éthanol. Légèrement soluble dans le méthanol, l’acétone, l’éther diéthylique, l’eau, l’ammoniac et les hydroxydes alcalins. Insoluble dans le benzène et le chloroforme.

Remarques
Sensible à la lumière. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts. Maintenir le récipient bien fermé.
