Acrylamide is primarily used in research laboratories for electrophoresis, chromatography, electron microscopy and in the sewage and wastewater treatment industries. It is used in the production of polymers mainly in the pulp and paper industry and textile treatment industry. The largest use for acrylamide is as an intermediate in the production of organic chemicals and in the synthesis of polyacrylamides.
