(+)-alpha-Pinene is employed in the preparation of chiral hydroboration reagents. It is a bronchodilator in humans. α-Pinene is an anti-inflammatory and used as a broad-spectrum antibiotic.It exhibits activity as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor, aiding memory. It is a biosynthetic base for CB2 ligands, such as HU-308.

Applications
Le (+)-alpha-Pinène est utilisé dans la préparation de réactifs d’hydroboration chirale. C’est un bronchodilatateur chez l’homme. Le α-pinène est un anti-inflammatoire utilisé comme antibiotique à large spectre. Il présente une activité en tant qu’inhibiteur de l’acétylcholinestérase, facilitant la mémoire. Il s’agit d’une base biosynthétique pour les ligands 2, tels que le HU-308.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’éther, les alcools, le chloroforme. Non miscible dans l’eau.
