Arbutin, a glycosylated hydroquinone, is used in studies on melanin biosynthesis and as an inhibitor to identify, differentiate and characterize tyrosinase(s). Also used in sed as a skin-lightening agent in cosmetic products.

Applications
L’arbutine, une hydroquinone glycosylée, est utilisée dans les études sur la biosynthèse de la mélanine et comme inhibiteur pour identifier, différencier et caractériser la tyrosinase. Également utilisé comme agent d’éclaircissement de la peau dans les produits cosmétiques.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau (50 mg/ml), le méthanol et le diméthylsulfoxyde.
