Used in the bromination of benzylic positions under sunlamp irradiation. Employed as chain transfer agent for radical polymerization of methacrylates. It can also be employed as brominating reagent of active hydrogen compounds.

Applications
Utilisé dans la bromation des positions benzyliques sous irradiation des lampes solaires. Utilisé comme agent de transfert de chaîne pour la polymérisation radicalaire des méthacrylates. Il peut également être utilisé comme réactif de bromation de composés à hydrogène actif.
