Chromone-2-carboxylic acid is used in the cyclic form 3?-oxopyrazolidino[4?,5??2, 3]-chroman-4-one, gives the azide of chromone-2-carboxylic acid, the curtius rearrangement of which is used to synthesize a number of 2-acylaminochromones and it is an orally active antiallergic agent.

Applications
L’acide carboxylique de chromone-2 est utilisé sous la forme cyclique 3′-oxopyrazolidino[4′,5′∶2, 3]-chroman-4-one, et permet d’obtenir l’azide d’acide carboxylique de chromone-2, dont le réagencement de Curtius est utilisé pour synthétiser un certain nombre d’ 2acylaminochromones. C’est également un agent anti-allergique oralement actif.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’alcool, l’eau, le DMSO, le méthanol chaud et l’éthanol.
