Description

Cystamine dihydrochloride acts as an anti-infective agent, which is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections. It is also used as a radiation-protective agent that interferes with sulfhydryl enzymes. Further, it serves as a heparin antagonist and sulfhydryl modifying reagent. In addition to this, it is used as an inhibitor of TGase.

Applications
Le dichlorhydrate de cystamine agit à l’instar d’un agent anti-infectieux, utilisé dans le traitement des infections urinaires. Il est également utilisé en tant qu’agent radioprotecteur qui interfère avec les enzymes sulfhydryles. En outre, il sert d’antagoniste de l’héparine et de réactif modificateur du sulfhydryle. Par ailleurs, il est aussi utilisé comme inhibiteur de la TGase.
