Diisopropyl azodicarboxylate is used as an important reagent in the production of many organic compounds. It is used in association with triphenyl phosphine in Mitsunobu reaction of alcohols, acids and amides. It acts as reactant in the preparation of chromenes resembling classical cannabinoids, norbornene-based guanidine-rich polymers and acceptor-donor-acceptor organic dyes.

Applications
L’azodicarboxylate de diisopropyle est utilisé comme réactif important dans la production de nombreux composés organiques. Il est utilisé en association avec la triphényl-phosphine dans la réaction de Mitsunobu des alcools, des acides et des amides. Il agit comme réactif dans la préparation de chromènes ressemblant à des cannabinoïdes classiques, à des polymères riches en guanidine à base de norbornène et à des colorants organiques accepteurs-donneurs-accepteurs.
