Applications
Le DMSO est un solvant aprotique polaire utilisé dans les réactions chimiques, les réactions en chaîne de la polymérase et comme agent de vitrification cryoprotecteur pour la conservation des cellules, tissus et organes. Le DMSO est utilisé dans les milieux de congélation cellulaire pour protéger les cellules contre les lésions mécaniques induites par les cristaux de glace. Il est utilisé pour le stockage en congélateur de cellules souches embryonnaires, de cellules souches hématopoïétiques et de lignées cellulaires hétéroploïdes et hybridomes primaires, sous-cultivées et recombinantes. Le DMSO est fréquemment utilisé en combinaison avec la BSA ou le sérum de veau fœtal.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau, le méthanol, l’acétone, l’éther, le benzène et le chloroforme.

Remarques
Filtré au sous-micron. Stockage à température ambiante, (15-30°C), desséché. Hygroscopique.
