Ethylene glycol-O,O'-bis(2-aminoethyl)-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid is a chelating agent used for making complexes, especially for calcium ions, which help determine calcium in the presence of magnesium. It can be used experimentally for treating animals possessing cerium poisoning. It is useful in the separation of thorium from monazite. It also acts as a buffer and is used in protein purification.

Applications
L’éthylène glycol-O,O′-bis(2-aminoéthyl)-N,N,N′,N′-acide tétraacétique est un agent chélateur utilisé dans la fabrication de complexes, en particulier pour les ions calcium, qui aident à déterminer le calcium en présence de magnésium. Il peut être utilisé expérimentalement pour traiter des animaux présentant un empoisonnement au cérium. Il est utile dans la séparation du thorium et de la monazite. Il agit également comme tampon et est utilisé dans la purification des protéines.

Solubilité
