Isophorone diisocyanate is useful for the preparation of polyurethane plastics. It is also used to make polyurethane coatings and in enamel coatings, which are resistant to abrasion and degradation from ultraviolet light. Further, it is used as coatings for automotive, flooring and roofing as well as paint applied to aircraft.

This Thermo Scientific Chemicals brand product was originally part of the Alfa Aesar product portfolio. Some documentation and label information may refer to the legacy brand. Applications
Le diisocyanate d’isophorone est utile pour la préparation des plastiques de polyuréthane. Il est également utilisé pour fabriquer des revêtements en polyuréthane et des revêtements en émail, qui résistent à l’abrasion et à la dégradation à la lumière ultraviolette. De plus, il est utilisé comme revêtement automobile, revêtement de sol et de toitures ainsi que pour la peinture appliquée aux aéronefs.

Solubilité
Miscible à des esters, des cétones, des éthers et des hydrocarbures aromatiques et aliphatiques.

Remarques
Sensible à l’humidité. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts, les acides forts et les alcools.
