Applications
Le malonate d’isopropylidène est un réactif important en chimie synthétique et impliqué dans la formation de nouvelles liaisons C-C, de nouveaux anneaux, d’amides, d’esters et d’acides. La présence de groupes carbonyles en position C-4 et C-6 favorise les réactions d’alkylation et d’acylation dues à sa nature acide. Il est également utilisé comme agent antimicrobien. Il est utilisé dans la préparation d’hétérocycles 4-pyridyle-substitués, d’indoles 2-substitués, de l’isofraxidine et des lactones bêta-céto macrocycliques. De plus, il est impliqué dans la réaction de condensation de Knoevenagel avec les aldéhydes.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau. Légèrement soluble dans l’éthanol et le chloroforme.

Remarques
Stocker dans un endroit frais. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
