L-Lysine is an essential amino acid used in human nutrition. It plays a vital role in calcium absorption, building muscle protein and recovering from surgery or sports injuries. It is used for the treatment of herpes infections and cold sores. Its derivatives lysine acetylsalicylate is utilized to treat pain as well as to detoxify the body after heroin use. It is an important additive to animal feed. Further, it is used in many foods, especially red meats, fish and dairy products.

Applications
La L-lysine est un acide aminé essentiel utilisé dans la nutrition humaine. Il joue un rôle vital dans l’absorption du calcium, la constitution de protéines musculaires et la récupération après une chirurgie ou des blessures sportives. Il est utilisé pour le traitement des infections d’herpès et des plaies froides. Ses dérivés acétylsalicylate de lysine sont utilisés pour traiter la douleur ainsi que pour détoxifier le corps après l’usage d’héroïne. Il s’agit d’un additif important pour l’alimentation des animaux. De plus, il est utilisé dans de nombreux aliments, en particulier les viandes rouges, les poissons et les produits laitiers.

Soluble dans l’eau. Insoluble dans l’éthanol, l’éther éthylique, l’acétone, le benzène et les solvants neutres communs.
