L-Norvaline enhances NO production from activated macrophages. It is known to promote tissue regeneration and muscle growth and become a precursor in the penicillin biosynthetic pathway. It also can be used for nutrition agent and drug synthesis. For example: it can react with phthalic acid anhydride to get N,N-phthaloyl-L-norvaline.

Applications
La L-norvaline améliore la production de NO à partir de macrophages activés. Il est connu pour promouvoir la régénération tissulaire et la croissance musculaire et pour devenir un précurseur dans la voie biosynthétique de la pénicilline. Il peut également être utilisé pour la synthèse d’agents nutritionnels et de médicaments. Par exemple : il peut réagir avec l’anhydride d’acide phtalique pour obtenir la N,N-phtaloyl-L-norvaline.
