Optimized support hardware allows mixing, moving, storage, shipping and discharge of the BPC contents while maintaining sterility of the contents. Standard products available for sterile liquid/liquid or powder/liquid mixing.

Mixtainer BioProcess Container — The Mixtainer BPC is supplied sterilized by irradiation. It is constructed of Thermo Scientific CX5-14 film and contains a magnetic stir-bar located in a plastic dish welded in the bottom of the BPC. The dish contains a locking ring to ensure the containment of the stir-bar during shipping, handling and operation. A powder port option is available on one of the standard configurations. Aseptic liquid transfers are facilitated by connectors and tubing attached to ports at the top of the BPC

Conical Drum — The Mixtainer system utilizes a polyethylene drum with a special enlarged opening at the bottom to accommodate the stir-bar dish

Magnetic Stirring Plate —A commercially available standard unit with the power and variable speed capability to provide a range of mixing

Support Plate — The support plate provides the right fit to ensure properfunctioning

Dolly —The dolly is designed to interface between the drum and the magnetic stirring plate to create the vertical and concentric alignment necessary for operation. It also provides mobility

  • Available in 50, 100, and 200L unit volumes
  • Recommended for applications where the BPC contents are post filtered

Recommended for:

  • Hydration of powdered media and buffers
  • Sterile mixing of cell culture media with sera and reagents
  • Sterile mixing of buffer solutions or other process fluids
  • Pooling of sterile liquid fractions
