Applications
Le n-Propyl 4-hydroxybenzoate est utilisé comme agents de conservation antimicrobien dans les produits pharmaceutiques, les aliments, les cosmétiques et les shampooings. Il est largement utilisé comme conservateur dans les produits de soins personnels comme les crèmes, les lotions et les produits de bain. De plus, il est utilisé comme additif alimentaire. Son dérivé, le p-hydroxybenzoate de propyle de sodium, est utilisé comme agent de conservation antifongique.

Solubilité
Soluble dans le propylène glycol, l’éthanol, l’éther, l’acétone, le méthanol et le diméthylsulfoxyde. Légèrement soluble dans la glycérine. Insoluble dans l’eau.

Remarques
Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts, les bases fortes et les métaux alcalins.
