It finds its application in the preparation of N-tert-butyldimethylsilyl ethanolamines resulting from hydrolysis of nitrogen mustards and a silylating agent used in the derivatization of various organic compounds (such as amino acids) for gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis and selective O-silylation of N,O-diacylhydroxylamines and GLC derivatization.

Applications
Il trouve son application dans la préparation d’éthanolamines de N-tert-butyldiméthylsilyle résultant de l’hydrolyse de moutardes d’azote et d’un agent de silylation utilisé dans la dérivatisation de divers composés organiques (tels que les acides aminés) pour les analyses de chromatographie en phase gazeuse couplée à la spectrométrie de masse (GC-MS) et l’O-silylation sélective des N,O-diacylhydroxylamines et la dérivatisation des GLC.
