Penicillin G sodium salt is used as a β-lactam antibiotic. Penicillin G can be used as a selective agent in several types of isolation media. It has been used to study the diagnostic and therapeutic implications of gentamicin-resistant Enterococcus faecalis sequence type 6 with reduced penicillin susceptibility and in cell culture both alone and combined with streptomycin and other antibiotics.

Applications
Le sel de sodium pénicilline G est utilisé comme antibiotique de β-lactame. La pénicilline G peut être utilisée comme agent sélectif dans plusieurs types de milieux d’isolement. Il a été utilisé pour étudier les implications diagnostiques et thérapeutiques du type 6 de séquence d’Enterococcus faecalis résistant à la gentamicine, avec une sensibilité réduite à la pénicilline et dans la culture cellulaire seule et combinée à la streptomycine et à d’autres antibiotiques.

Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau (100 mg/ml), l’alcool, le glycérol, le DMSO (71 mg/ml à 25°C) et l’éthanol (<1mg/mL at 25°C).
