Perylene is used as a fluorescent and a chemiluminescent agent in the cytochemistry of membranes. It serves as a blue-emitting dopant material in organic light emitting diodes. It finds application as an organic photoconductor.

Applications
Le perylène est utilisé comme agent fluorescent et chimiluminescent dans la cytochimie des membranes. Il sert de matériau dopant à émission bleue dans les diodes électroluminescentes organiques. Il est appliqué comme un photoconducteur organique.
