Descripción
Pyronin Y is a cationic dye that intercalates RNA and is visible as a red band during electrophoresis. It has also been shown to accumulate in mitochondria of viable cells. In conjuction with Methyl Green or Nancy-520, Pyronin Y can be used as a fluorescent differential stain of nucleic acids in paraffin tissue sections.

La pyronine Y est un colorant cationique qui intercale l’ARN et prend la forme d’une bande rouge pendant l’électrophorèse. Il a également été démontré qu’elle s’accumule dans les mitochondries des cellules viables. En conjonction avec le vert méthylique ou Nancy-520, la pyronine Y peut être utilisée comme coloration différentielle fluorescente des acides nucléiques dans les coupes de tissus de paraffine.
Solubilité
Soluble dans l’eau. Également soluble dans la cellosolve de méthyle (9 mg/ml) et l’éthanol (3 mg/ml).
