Description
A compound used to convert alkyl halides into the corresponding alkylthiocyanates. Undergoes nucleophilic substitution reactions with phase-transfer catalysts. Silver thiocyanate may be used as well, the precipitation of insoluble silver halides help simplify workup. Treatment of isopropyl bromide with sodium thiocyanate in a hot ethanolic solution affords isopropyl thiocyanate.

Composé utilisé pour convertir les halogénures d’alkyle en alkylthiocyanates correspondants. Subit des réactions de substitution nucléophiles avec des catalyseurs de transfert de phase. Le thiocyanate d’argent peut également être utilisé, la précipitation des halogénures d’argent insolubles facilite le travail.
