Description

Biosynthetic precursor to all steroids Squalene is used as a precursor to steroids and ergosterol and as an immunologic adjuvant in vaccines. It plays a vital role in the preparation of cholesterol, steroid hormones and vitamin D. It serves as a lubricant for fatty acid surfactant films adsorbed on iron oxide surfaces.

Applications
Précurseur biosynthétique de tous les stéroïdes, le squalène est utilisé comme précurseur des stéroïdes et de l‘ergostérol et comme adjuvant immunologique dans les vaccins.
