tert-Butyl bromoacetate is used as an intermediate in the production of dyes, pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals and in organic compounds. It finds application as an alkylating agent. It plays an important role to prepare (2-oxo-4-vinyl-azetidin-1-yl)-acetic acid tert-butyl ester and in collagenase inhibitors synthesis.

Applications
Le bromoacétate de tert-butyle est utilisé comme intermédiaire dans la production de colorants, de produits pharmaceutiques, de produits agrochimiques et de composés organiques. Il est utilisé comme agent alkylant. Il joue un rôle important dans la préparation de l’ester de tert-butyle de l’acide acétique (2-oxo-4-vinyl-azétidin-1-yl) et dans la synthèse des inhibiteurs de la collagénase.

Solubilité
Miscible à l’éthanol, au chloroforme et à l’acétate d’éthyle. Immiscible avec l’eau.

Remarques
Hygroscopique. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts et les bases fortes.
