Tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane hydrochloride is used as a component of buffer solutions in biology, biochemistry and molecular biology. It is also used for crystallization of proteins at various pH values. Further, it inhibits motor responses to adrenergic motor nerve stimulation in smooth muscles. In addition to this, it is used in coelomic fluid and in cortland medium to store unfertilized rainbow trout eggs.

Applications
Le chlorhydrate de tris(hydroxyméthyl)aminométhane est utilisé comme composant des solutions tampons en biologie, biochimie et biologie moléculaire. Il est également utilisé pour la cristallisation des protéines à diverses valeurs de pH. De plus, il inhibe les réponses motrices à la stimulation des nerfs moteurs adrénergiques dans les muscles lisses. En outre, il est utilisé dans le liquide cœlomique et dans le milieu cortland pour stocker les œufs de truite arc-en-ciel non fécondés.
