Glycerol triacetate is used as a food additive and as a solvent in flavorings. It acts as an excipient in pharmaceutical products where it is used as a humectant and a plasticizer. It is also used as a fuel additive, as an antiknock agent, adhesives and sealant chemicals, fillers, intermediates and process regulators.

Applications
Le triacétate de glycérol est utilisé comme additif alimentaire et comme solvant dans les arômes. Il agit comme excipient dans les produits pharmaceutiques où il est utilisé comme humectant et plastifiant. Il est également utilisé comme additif de carburant, agent antidétonant, adhésifs et produits chimiques de scellage, charges, intermédiaires et régulateurs de procédés.

Solubilité
Légèrement miscible avec l’eau, le tétrachlorure de carbone et le disulfure de carbone. Miscible avec l’acétone, l’éthanol, le benzène et le chloroforme.

Remarques
Sensible à la chaleur. Incompatible avec les agents oxydants forts.
