Glycolaldehyde diethyl acetal is used in the preparation of neooxazolomycin, which is a part of the oxazolomycin family of antibiotics. It is also used in the preparation of pyrimidine based inhibitors of phosphodiesterase 7.

Applications
L’acétal diéthylique de glycolaldéhyde est utilisé dans la préparation de la néooxazolomycine, qui fait partie de la famille des oxazolomycines (antibiotiques). Il est également utilisé dans la préparation d’inhibiteurs de la phosphodiestérase 7 à base de pyrimidine.
