Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (61%), Rat (61%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-55351 (PA5-55351. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

ADAM2 is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family. Members of this family are membrane-anchored proteins structurally related to snake venom disintegrins, and have been implicated in a variety of biological processes involving cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, including fertilization, muscle development, and neurogenesis. ADAM2 is a subunit of an integral sperm membrane glycoprotein called fertilin, which plays an important role in sperm-egg interactions. This gene encodes a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloprotease domain) family.
