Recombinant Protein

Recombinant Human EG-VEGF is a 9.6 kDa protein consisting of 86 amino acid residues, including ten cysteine residues that potentially form five pairs of intra-molecular disulfide bonds. Endocrine gland-derived vascular endothelial growth factor induces proliferation, migration, and fenestration in capillary endothelial cells derived from endocrine glands. Its expression is induced by hypoxia and is restricted to the steroidogenic glands. Its expression is often complementary to the expression of VEGF, suggesting that these molecules function in a coordinated manner.
