Description générale

• L’hydrocortisone est la formulation synthétique de l’hormone d’origine naturelle, le cortisol
• Elle est disponible sous forme de poudre cristalline blanche soluble dans l’eau, le DMSO et l’éthanol
• Elle est stable à température ambiante, mais sensible à la lumière et réactive en présence d’agents oxydants forts

Applications

• L’hydrocortisone agit comme un agoniste des récepteurs glucocorticoïdes, ce qui permet de supprimer la réponse inflammatoire du système immunitaire
• Son administration induit la gluconéogenèse, augmentant ainsi les taux de sucre dans le sang endogène
