Description
Reversible protease inhibitor, which inhibits cathepsin B, calpain and trypsinPharmaceutical composition containing leupeptin hemisulfate is used as an anti-malarial agent. It is employed in the treatment of noise-induced hearing loss. It also protects the heart from myocardial stunning. Further, it is used to inhibit serine, cysteine proteases, plasmin, trypsin, papain, kallikrein and cathepsin B.

Inhibiteur réversible de protéase, qui inhibe la cathepsine B, la calpaïne et la trypsine. La composition pharmaceutique contenant de l’hémisulfate de leupeptine, est utilisée comme agent antipaludique. Il est utilisé dans le traitement des pertes auditives induites par le bruit. Il protège également le cœur contre la sidération myocardique. De plus, il est utilisé pour inhiber la sérine, les protéases à cystéine, la plasmine, la trypsine, la papapaïne, la kallicréine et la cathepsine B.
