For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. PIK3CA/PIK3R3 lipid kinase (p110 alpha /p55 gamma) or Phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PIK3) phosphorylates the inositol ring of phosphatidylinositol at the 3-prime position which serves as second messenger in growth signaling pathways. PIK3CA comprises a 110 kDa catalytic subunit and a regulatory subunit of either 85, 55, or 50 kDa. PIK3CA plays an important role in the metabolic actions of insulin, and a mutation in the PIK3CA has been associated with insulin resistance and plays an important role in glucose homeostasis in vivo. PIK3CA also plays an essential role in the development and induction of mast cells in normal and pathogenic immune responses.
