Description
Polyphosphoric acid is used as a dehydrating agent, cyclizing agent, acylating agent, analytical reagent and as a ring closing reagent. It is used in the production of phosphate esters, acid phosphates and pharmaceuticals. It is involved in metal treatment and as an asphalt and a bitumen additive. Furthermore, it is employed for the determination of tryptophan and used a reagent for the alkylation and acylation reactions of aromatic and alkenic compounds.

L’acide polyphosphorique est utilisé comme agent déshydratant, agent de cyclisation, agent d’acylation, réactif analytique et comme réactif de fermeture de cycle. Il est utilisé dans la production d’esters de phosphate, de phosphates acides et de produits pharmaceutiques. Il est impliqué dans le traitement des métaux et comme asphalte et comme additif de bitume. Remarques
Hygroscopique. Gardez le récipient hermétiquement fermé dans un endroit sec et bien ventilé. Incompatible avec les bases. Il réagit violemment avec l’eau pour générer de la chaleur et de l’acide phosphorique.
