Description
The Human Interleukin 6 ST/GP130/CD130(Hu IL-6ST) ELISA quantitates Hu IL-6ST in human serum, plasma, or cell culture medium. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant Hu IL-6ST. Principle of the method The Human IL-6ST solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the addition of the second (detector) antibody, a substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce measurable signal. The intensity of this signal is directly proportional to the concentration of target present in the original specimen. Rigorous validation Each manufactured lot of this ELISA kit is quality tested for criteria such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, and lot-to-lot consistency. La protéine codée par ce gène est un transducteur de signal partagé par de nombreuses cytokines, notamment l’interleukine 6 (IL6), le facteur neurotrophique ciliaire (CNTF), le facteur inhibiteur de la leucémie (LIV) et l’oncostatine M (OSM). Cette protéine fait partie du complexe récepteur de cytokine. L’activation de cette protéine dépend de la liaison des cytokines à leurs récepteurs. vIL6, une protéine liée à l’IL6 et codée par le virus de l’herpès associé au sarcome de Kaposi, peut contourner le récepteur de l’interleukine 6 (IL6R) et activer directement cette protéine. Des études de knock-out chez la souris ont suggéré que le gène qui code cette protéine dans la régulation de l’apoptose des myocytes joue un rôle essentiel. Des variantes de transcription à épissage alternatif codant des isoformes distinctes ont également été décrites.
