It also can be used as pharmaceutical intermediates. Besides, this chemical can be used to pruduce drugs such as methylthio imidazole, chlorpheniramine and others for thyroid. It also acts as a Useful intermediate for the preparation of other ?-heterosubstituted acetaldehyde acetals.
